Hi fashion lovers!
It's time for another Keora Spotlight...
This week I'm featuring someone who I've had the pleasure of knowing for over 20 years. I'd rather you read more about her below but just know, while she's been in the game for several years, I feel like she's about to take over in 2020!
First, give my readers a brief overview of who you are.
I am TaKeyia Monique, the owner, and creator of Digital Rebel. Digital Rebel is a one women brand based in Washington, DC. The brand is made to empower and express your inner thoughts out loud. After owning my PR firm for four years I decided to get back to my first passion, fashion. I'm a girl that loves a great graphic tee, jeans, amazing shoes, and a dope jacket to set the mood. I created Digital Rebel to embrace the rebellion that lives in me.
Who is your ideal client to work with?
I love the idea of working with people that sings their own tune. I call them Rebels because no matter what society says, they are always gamed to making their dreams come true. My ideal client is the one that makes their own path, bring their own table, their own chair and make the decision to just go for it.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
This question can get me in a lot of trouble. Four years ago I started my own PR firm and I LOVED IT but in my 3rd year I started to dislike it. When the business turned 4 I was completely checked out. The thing about fashion is that this is where I started. I started in PR fashion, working with fashion magazines, designers, and boutique brands. During my fashion PR days, I had always said that I was going to own a PR firm and a boutique. Let's just say I wanted the best of both worlds. So in 5 years, my goal is to have a boutique and to inspire other Rebels to live in their truth.
Who inspires you?
My inspiration comes from life experiences, conversations with friends, thought-provoking art and music.
What’s another passion of yours that people may not know?
I love documenting everything. I've fallen in love with making films, telling stories, and expressing my heart through film.
What’s next for your brand in 2020?
I truly believe 2020 is going to be a year of change for me. I'm learning to truly embrace my brand so as I go through this journey, my brand will have no other choice but to level up.
Can you see why I said she's taking over in 2020?! I hope you enjoyed this spotlight as much as I did.
